Department Manager | Mechanical

H2M is seeking a Department Manager to join our Mechanical team in Melville, NY. The successful candidate will direct projects, manage client relations, and develop and manage our Mechanical team on overall HVAC design/project management responsibilities. The role involves technical leadership, production, and scheduling, quality control, and cost proposals, as well as participation in business development initiatives and efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer license required.
• 20+ years of overall MEP experience, with strong focus on HVAC projects, in a consulting firm;
• Must have at least 10 years devoted to project management and development/oversight of staff.
• Must have prior experience working with local municipalities/government agencies.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and management skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead Mechanical/HVAC staff at various levels.
• Ability to manage and prioritize Mechanical projects of various complexity levels;
• Demonstrated ability to effectively develop, grow, and enhance client relationships.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
