Habitat Charlotte Region is a nonprofit dedicated to creating affordable, dignified homes for families throughout the Charlotte area. Since its founding in 1983 by seven local churches, the organization has delivered over 4,000 homes through new construction, critical repair, and homeownership programs that pair low‑interest mortgages with volunteer labor and financial literacy training. The agency distinguishes itself with initiatives such as Women Build—the first all‑female Habitat crew—and a network of six ReStores that recycle donated building materials to fund its mission. By combining community partnership, hands‑on volunteerism, and sustainable funding, Habitat Charlotte Region continues to build homes, strengthen neighborhoods, and inspire hope.
