Halperns Steak & Seafood is seeking a Meat Cutter, Bone In to join their team. The position involves portioning and merchandising bone-in meat products, working with supervisors and production managers, and following company quality control procedures.
Requirements
- Must have working knowledge of production equipment
- Demonstrates ability to portion all cuts of meat in an accurate and timely manner
- Ability to reduce processing costs by cutting and sizing portions accurately with good yields as well as meeting customer specs
- Ability to problem solve in terms of trimming and product substitutions
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure, challenging environment
- Must be a team player and possess a positive attitude
- Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, in English
- Must demonstrate the ability to understand the Meat Buyer’s Guide specifications as they relate to the company’s internal product specifications
- Ability to tie a standards butcher’s knot for tying roasts and chops
- Follows company’s Quality Control procedures
