The Quality Inspector – Mechanical is responsible for ensuring that all mechanical works are executed in full compliance with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs, and project quality procedures.
Requirements
- Conduct daily inspections to ensure mechanical works follow approved ITPs, checklists, and project requirements.
- Proactively identify deficiencies, non-compliance, or faults in mechanical installations and report them immediately to the QC Manager for corrective actions.
- Close all WIRs (Work Inspection Requests) and MIRs (Material Inspection Requests) after obtaining proper signatures and ensuring supporting documentation is complete.
- Thoroughly review project specifications, mechanical drawings, PQP, ITPs, method statements, QC procedures, and related quality documents.
- Witness and document testing of mechanical systems (e.g., pressure tests, leakage tests, functional testing) and complete relevant forms.
- Monitor contractor practices related to mechanical quality control and safety compliance.
- Conduct daily meetings with the contractor's QC representative to ensure alignment with mechanical quality management procedures.
- Assist the construction team in resolving mechanical quality issues and technical challenges.
- Support the Quality Manager (QM) in preparing and conducting mechanical-related quality audits.
- Prepare daily QC reports and submit them to the QC Manager no later than 9:00 AM the following day.
- Verify that all mechanical testing tools and devices have valid calibration certificates.
- Review and maintain logs of WIRs, MIRs, MARs, NCRs, and other mechanical quality documentation.
- Highlight and report any mechanical miscoordination issues between disciplines to the Resident Engineer (RE) and Quality Manager (QM).
