The Quality Inspector – Safety is responsible for monitoring and ensuring that all construction activities adhere to approved quality standards, safety procedures, and inspection protocols.
Requirements
- Perform daily site surveillances to ensure ongoing works comply with approved ITPs, checklists, and project requirements.
- Identify deficiencies, safety issues, and non-compliance on site; report immediately to the QC Manager and initiate corrective actions before work is covered.
- Ensure proper closure of WIRs (Work Inspection Requests) and MIRs (Material Inspection Requests) after obtaining signatures and verifying all required documentation.
- Review and understand project specifications, drawings, PQP, ITPs, method statements, QC procedures, and other relevant quality documents.
- Witness testing and sampling of concrete, soil, steel, and other materials; complete all related forms as per approved procedures.
- Monitor and comment on contractor quality control and safety practices to ensure compliance.
- Conduct daily coordination meetings with the contractor’s QC representative to reinforce proper quality management procedures.
- Assist the Construction team in resolving quality‐related and safety‐related issues.
- Support the Quality Manager in preparing and conducting internal/external quality audits.
- Prepare and submit daily QC reports to the QC Manager no later than 9:00 AM the following day.
- Verify that all testing equipment and devices have valid calibration certificates.
- Review and maintain logs of WIRs, MIRs, MARs, and other QC documentation.
- Report any miscoordination between disciplines to the Resident Engineer (RE) and Quality Manager (QM).
