Job Description
Harlem Children's Zone is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Activity Specialist to facilitate after-school activities for students in grades K-5. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the mission of Harlem Children's Zone and experience in teaching and arts education.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ years of teaching experience
- Specialization in Theater/Acting, Performing Arts, or Musical Arts
- Conservatory training and/or university-level education and practical experience in the content area (preferred)
- Passion and experience with arts education involving youth
- Flexibility, creativity, and enthusiasm for young people
- Excellent planning, organization, communication, and time management skills
- Ability to provide consistent and positive instruction and receive constructive criticism
- Experience working in youth development and teaching well-developed enrichment courses
- Energetic, motivated self-starter and a team player
