Test Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated Test Engineer to support the planning and execution of meaningful testing that validates designs, verifies analysis methods, and evaluates failure modes. As a Test Engineer at Harley-Davidson, you will collaborate across teams and levels within Product Development Engineering to advance systems engineering, testing, and quality initiatives.

Requirements

• Execute technical tests on motorcycles and components using established procedures and practices in laboratory and proving ground environments.
• Analyze, compile, and report test results to engineering teams with guidance from senior staff.
• Improve testing processes and reduce product development time through effective communication, problem solving, and progress reporting.
• Deliver high-quality test data through strong understanding of transducer design, limitations, calibration, and usage.
• Independently apply instrumentation tools and techniques to support test activities.
• Develop skills in fatigue, vibration, and thermal analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to execute component verification/validation methods and analyze results.
• Innovate new test techniques and enhance existing processes to improve data collection efficiency and accelerate development cycles.
• Provide guidance on data acquisition systems and methodologies to engineers and technicians.
• Design and fabricate custom transducers to support complex data acquisition and testing needs.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges using structured problem-solving methods and coordinate support across engineering and test teams.
