Dental Patient Services Representative

The Patient Services Representative acts as the point of contact by greeting patients and visitors in person and over the phone and directing them to the appropriate clinic personnel.

Requirements

• Answer the telephone promptly and courteously
• Schedule patient appointments and take messages
• Register patients into the computer and generate required paperwork
• Confirm patient's current address and phone number and update demographic and insurance information
• Prepare patient charts for next day appointments and conduct insurance verifications and telephone appointment confirmations
• Check patients in/out for appointments and notify dental staff of patient's arrival
• Document cancellations or appointments not kept in patient chart
• Monitor the status of reception areas and alert clinical staff of unusually long patient wait times
• Receive payment and record receipts for services
• Promote and support the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) primary care model
