Job Description
The Technical Trainer will identify training needs, lead, direct, develop, implement, and monitor technical training with a focus on operational and/or maintenance activities to ensure employees meet training requirements. The ideal candidate will have multiple years of operational and/or maintenance related experience in an electric utility or equivalent, with a few years of supervisory/leadership experience and training experience.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge in the operation and maintenance of transmission, distribution and substation facilities
- Knowledge of transmission and distribution overhead and underground construction and work standards
- Working knowledge of personal computers and/or mainframe systems and related software applications
- Knowledge of the requirements for compliance with State and Federal environmental and safety regulations
- Demonstrated leadership skills including effective written, oral and listening communication skills; conflict resolution skills; the willingness and ability to train
- Must have or be able to qualify for State of Hawaii driver’s license and Class A CDL license in order to travel to various field sites to train and monitor operations
