Operations Electrical Designer

HDR is seeking an Operations Electrical Designer to join their team in Colorado Springs. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of federal contracts and/or the Air Force Civil Engineering Squadron and a strong enthusiasm to ensure cadets and future Air Force Leaders live and learn in state-of-the-art facilities.

Requirements

• Design, maintain, and upgrade electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, generators, and controls across campus facilities
• Manage electrical renovations and installations in compliance with DoD standards, UFC, NEC, OSHA, and Air Force regulations
• Serve as the liaison between engineers and shop craftsmen to ensure smooth communication and project execution
• Collaborate with civil, mechanical, and environmental engineers on integrated infrastructure projects
• Lead energy efficiency initiatives through smart grid technologies and automation systems
• Maintain accurate technical documentation for audits, planning, and asset lifecycle management
• Conduct limited in-house designs and analyze technical data to support small-scale projects and infrastructure planning
• Lead asset inventory, condition assessments, and reliability processes including RCA and PM optimization
• Identify, prioritize, and manage repair and recapitalization projects with clear job planning
• Communicate effectively with leadership, uphold ethical standards, and deliver high-quality results to stakeholders
