Job Description
The Hourly Project Assistant II will support efforts to improve data quality, accuracy, and timeliness for gun shop owners to prevent firearms and explosives sales to individuals with involuntary psychiatric hospitalization in New York State. The incumbent will perform data analysis, identify facilities with delayed reporting, and assist staff in reviewing and analyzing data.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or completed a degree, certificate, or training program in public health, health sciences, biology, environmental health, epidemiology, statistics/biostatistics, data science, social sciences, health policy, or a closely related field.
- Data analysis experience including use of Microsoft Excel, SAS, Python, or R, with experience with SQL coding and relational databases.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience preparing reports and delivering presentations.
