Job Description
The Nurse B - Public Health Nurse position provides investigation and follow-up of reportable and non-reportable communicable diseases, including sexually transmitted disease, and provides HIV counseling and point of care and anonymous HIV testing. The role also involves examining patients for sexually transmitted disease, providing family planning information and counseling, and promoting educational programs for the public and other professionals. The work requires a high degree of confidentiality and tact.
Requirements
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience as a public health nurse
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
- Course credits in public health nursing
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR)
