The Primary Health Care Registered Nurse - Nurse Practitioner (RN (NP)) reports directly to the Primary Health Care Manager. The RN (NP) works within the full scope of practice and promotes quality health care outcomes. As a member of an interdisciplinary team, the RN (NP) promotes and integrates the goals and principles of primary health care into daily work.
Requirements
- Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (MN-NP) degree
- Minimum of three (3) years of full-time recent nursing experience
- Two (2) years advanced RN (NP) in applicable area
- Ability and flexibility in adapting to changing situations and environments
- Knowledge in time management
- Demonstrates ability in verbal and non-verbal communication techniques
- Knowledge in HIV, Hep C and addiction recovery
- Ability to implement holistic, comprehensive care to individuals/groups/families
- Ability to be self-directed and work relatively independently
- Ability to initiate and exercise critical thinking and decision-making
- Knowledge in community development and facilitation strategies
- Commitment to continued learning and professional development
- Knowledge in unique issues of HIV/STD and hepatitis
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrates leadership, confidence and autonomy in the RN (NP) role
