Requirements

• Management experience, having line-managed engineers before and handled performance management, difficult conversations, and navigating change
• Strong technical background, having held at least a Senior Engineer role and experience with Java, React/Typescript, and system design
• Bias for action, defaulting to doing rather than deliberating
• People and growth focus, believing high-performing teams start with people who feel supported, challenged, and trusted
• AI-native mindset, using AI tools to accelerate delivery and strong opinions on where AI genuinely accelerates delivery and where it is a distraction
• Comfort with ambiguity, operating in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and things aren't always neatly defined
