Assoc Project Manager I

Henkels & McCoy, Inc. is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support the execution of fiber optic Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) construction projects. The ideal candidate has hands-on exposure to fiber construction and is ready to grow into a full project management role within telecommunications infrastructure.

Requirements

• Support Project Managers in planning, executing, and closing out fiber optic OSP and ISP construction projects
• Coordinate day-to-day activities with field crews, subcontractors, inspectors, and utility locators
• Track project schedules and budgets, assist with monitoring progress, identifying risks, and supporting corrective actions
• Assist with preparation and management of project documentation
• Conduct site visits to verify fiber placement, conduit installation, handhole/vault placement, splicing activities, and restoration work
• Support coordination with municipalities, permitting agencies, and utility owners for right-of-way access and construction approvals
• Participate in internal and client-facing project meetings, document meeting minutes, action items, and status updates
• Assist with invoice review, unit tracking, and preparation of billing documentation based on completed fiber construction quantities
• Support quality control by reviewing test results (OTDR, power meter) and ensuring compliance with project specifications
