Job Description
Hitachi Energy is seeking a HSE Specialist to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environmental management systems in accordance with company policies, national regulations, and international standards. The successful candidate will investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and prepare and deliver HSE training programs to employees. They will also monitor and analyze HSE performance metrics and ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience as an HSE Engineer or similar role in a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment
- In-depth knowledge of local and international HSE regulations and standards
- Professional certification (e.g., NEBOSH, CSP, CIH) is highly desirable
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify hazards and implement effective control measures
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively train and influence personnel at all levels
- Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Japanese is a plus
