The Fleet Technician 1 will assist in the repair and diagnosis of truck and trailing equipment, conduct Preventive Maintenance (PM) services, and perform light repairs. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 1-2 years of experience, and certification in vehicle inspection and brake inspection. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining work area appearance, safely, and providing customer service to drivers who need maintenance work.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance preferred
- Vocational / technical or certification preferred
- Demonstrated customer service and relationship building skills
- Working knowledge of fleet maintenance policies, DOT standards and industry practices
- Organized with the ability to deal with multiple activities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in the use of shop tools required
- Team player with excellent communication skills
- Strong work ethic
- Clean MVR and able to operate service truck
- A valid Driver’s license is required- CDL class A (with air brake endorsement) preferred
- Basic computer skills to enter data into maintenance software system is required
- Results orientated with the ability to work with minimal supervision in non-climate-controlled environment required
- Ability to travel as needed for various training required
- Must have own tools (hand and pneumatic) sufficient to do any job that is required
