The Fleet Technician 2 will repair and diagnose major components of various truck and trailing equipment at the direction of the shop manager. Responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance, repairing tires, and diagnosing malfunctions. The role requires 2-4 years of practical experience in tractor trailer maintenance, a high school diploma, and specialized training in repair and replacement of vehicle components.
Requirements
- 2-4 years practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Vocational / technical or certification
- Demonstrated customer service and relationship building skills
- Broad understanding of fleet maintenance policies, DOT standards and industry practices
- Organized with the ability to deal with multiple activities in a fast-paced environment
- Specialized training in the repair and replacement of vehicle components
- Proficient in the use of shop tools
- Team player with excellent communication skills
- Strong work ethic
- Excellent communication skills
- Clean MVR and able to operate service truck
- Valid CDL Class A license (with air brake endorsement)
- Basic computer skills to enter data into maintenance software system
- Results orientated with the ability to work with minimal supervision in non-climate-controlled environment
- Ability to travel as needed for various training
- Must have own tools (hand and pneumatic) sufficient to do any job that is required
- Forklift certified operator’s license
