Job Description
Patient Accounts Representative role assisting patients with clinic bills and insurance claims, counseling patients on insurance and billing questions.
Requirements
- Access patient records and update payment and medical insurance information
- Process patient payments and refunds
- Identify and rectify medical coding mistakes and patient under/over payments
- Create payment plans based on patient income and financial obligations
- Communicate with insurance providers to verify treatment coverage
- Answer patient questions regarding unsettled bills and billing discrepancies
- Contact patients to inform of overdue balances
- Contact collection agencies or attorneys for delinquent accounts
- Assist patients in applying for financial assistance
- Maintain competency and support compliance efforts
