Buyer

IDEX is looking for a Buyer to manage the end-to-end purchasing lifecycle to ensure material availability in support of production while balancing service level, cost, inventory, and working capital objectives.

Requirements

• Analyze on-hand inventory, open orders, lead times, and projected usage to determine what, how much, and when to purchase.
• Create, maintain, and manage purchase orders in the ERP system to support production schedules and inventory targets.
• Maintain regular communication with suppliers to confirm pricing, lead times, delivery dates, and capacity commitments.
• Monitor open order quantities and due dates and adjust purchasing actions as business needs change.
• Partner closely with Planning and Operations to align purchasing decisions with production schedules and changing priorities.
• Support Engineering with sourcing and procurement of custom, precision, and long-lead components.
• Use ERP and reporting tools to support data-driven purchasing and inventory decisions.
• Identify inefficiencies in purchasing and supplier processes and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
