The Nurse Extern will provide patient care through an interdisciplinary approach, communicating with the healthcare team to assist the patient in meeting their goals, and performing nursing interventions and documenting according to policy and procedure to assure patient safety.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Registered Nurse Program approved by the State Board of Nursing
- When enrolled in a BSN program: the student must be entering their senior year and have completed at least the medical/surgical clinical component of his/her educational experience.
- When enrolled in a Diploma/Associate program: the student must be entering their final year of nursing school.
- Must present proof of continued enrollment and passing grade(s) in nursing classes each semester until graduation and is in good academic standing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program required.
- Act 33 with renewal.
- Act 34 with renewal.
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal.
