Medical Laboratory Scientist

Indiana University Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform laboratory tests on patient specimens and provide information for diagnosis, treatment or prevention of diseases. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related sciences, 1 year of relevant experience, and certification or eligibility for board certification by ASCP, AMT, NCA, or equivalent.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related sciences
• 1 year of relevant experience
• Certification or eligibility for board certification by ASCP, AMT, NCA, or equivalent
• Knowledge of various complex and lengthy laboratory techniques and procedures
• Knowledge of specialized testing equipment and routine maintenance procedures
• Ability to maintain quality control and other records
• Ability to use computer to enter and retrieve test results
• Analytical skills to make quantitative and qualitative observations
• Ability to work independently; handle constant interruptions and concurrent tasks
• Knowledge of all laboratory safety regulations and protocols
