
Job description
The Mainframe Systems Programmer provides support for on-going projects that require the installation, testing, and implementation of new operating systems and other system software. The role involves maintenance and debugging of systems software, coordination and IOGEN work for new MF hardware, research and evaluation of new software and hardware products, and assisting team members and other areas with technical questions and problem resolution.
The Associate Mainframe Systems Programmer will provide support for on-going projects, perform day-to-day maintenance activities, standard tasks for stability of the system, and debugging of incidents reported by the customer on the mainframe system components.
The ideal candidate will have functional knowledge on use of z/OS components, a deeper understanding of the operating systems internals, and knowledge of support products such as databases (DB2), transactions systems (CICS), storage management, tape management, scheduling, security, monitoring systems, etc.
