Job description
The Mainframe Systems Programmer provides support for on-going projects that require the installation, testing, and implementation of new operating systems and other'system' software. The role involves maintenance and debugging of systems software, coordination and IOGEN work for new MF hardware, research and evaluation of new software and hardware products, and technical support to team members and other areas.
Perform data management tasks, backup and recovery processes, database maintenance activities, monitor and manage space, identify and troubleshoot database issues, monitor database backups and maintenance jobs, and work in a collaborative multi-client environment.
The ideal candidate will have functional knowledge of z/OS components, detailed knowledge of support products, and experience with troubleshooting database performance issues and query tuning concepts.
