Litigation Lawyer – Surety and Trade Credit

Requirements

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. or J.D.) and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
• Membership in a bar of one of the Atlantic provinces is an asset
• More than 7 years of relevant experience
• Strong skills and expertise in complex civil litigation, particularly in surety law, trade credit, securities and recovery, construction, as well as in drafting, research and analysis, negotiation, and all stages of litigation, including trial
• Strong knowledge of securities law (PPSA), insolvency (CCAA/BIA) and commercial contract law
• Experience with Ontario’s Construction Act (construction liens, construction bonds): highly valued asset
• Strong sense of responsibility, dynamism, team spirit and influential leadership
• Ability and interest in mentoring and contributing to the development of less experienced resources
• Willingness to travel across Ontario and across Canada, occasionally as needed
• Bilingualism (English and French), is an asset
