The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center. The role involves integrating the strategic plan of the organization with operations, leading the development of high-quality clinical programs, and overseeing the operating budget.
Requirements
- Builds and develops operations, organization processes, and procedures to support strategic direction for area(s) of responsibility.
- Establishes operations initiatives for improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery of services, and employee relations.
- Establishes operations standards and policies for service delivery, customer service, and fiscal responsibility.
- Builds, develops, and manages operations leadership team capable of carrying out needed operations strategies and improving employee relations.
- Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate performance improvement and working relationships.
- Oversees operating budget of area(s) of responsibility to ensure compliance with organizational fiscal requirements and goals.
- Participates in strategic plan for institutional goals and objectives and validates projections.
- Participates with leaders of the Board of Directors, management, medical staff, ancillary, support, financial and clinical areas in the organization's decision-making structures and processes.
- Systematically determines compliance with regulations of local, state, and federal agencies, as well as with standards of accrediting bodies, and provides direction to correct deviations promptly.
- Scans internal and external environment for actual and potential threats or opportunities on which the Chief Operating Officer can base proactive responses (e.g., legislative issues involving changes in reimbursement).
- Establishes and maintains effective and collaborative working relationship with other INTEGRIS organizations in the complex multi-system environment.
- Represents INTEGRIS Health at meetings of local, state, and national organizations. Represents senior management on multiple internal hospital and board committees.
- Assumes responsibility for active hospital-wide problem identification and resolution through establishment and leadership of task forces and total quality improvement teams.
