Consultant (Analyst) – Sovereign Debt Program

The International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) is seeking a Consultant (Analyst) to join its Sovereign Debt Program. The program focuses on sustainable and equitable approaches to sovereign debt, combining analytical work, technical assistance, and policy engagement. The Consultant will work on quantitative data collection and analysis, technical assistance, and documentation. The ideal candidate has a Master's or PhD in economics or a related field, with strong quantitative coursework and experience working with macroeconomic datasets.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in economics or a related field
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data cleaning
• Experience working with macroeconomic, fiscal, financial, or development datasets
• Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills in English
• Strong presentation and networking skills
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, asynchronous team
