Job Description
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Protection Associate to work in Douala, Cameroon. The Protection Associate will be responsible for managing direct assistance and voluntary return case management activities, guiding and training a team of case managers, and liaising with authorities and law enforcement agencies to prevent migrant detention.
Requirements
- Conduct interviews with migrants in an irregular administrative situation in Cameroon
- Manage direct assistance and voluntary return case management activities
- Guide and train a team of case managers
- Liaise with authorities and law enforcement agencies to prevent migrant detention
- Ensure completion of all steps of the transition from Excel to MiMOSA case data management systems
- Manage cases of refugees accepted for resettlement
- Support child protection activities, including establishment of a foster care system and panels to determine the best interests of the child
