Data Centre Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Data Centre Engineer to help our team keep Jane Street's data safe and accessible around the clock. The role involves designing, building, scaling, and performing daily upkeep in our regional data and colocation centres.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working in a data centre environment
• Strong understanding of data centre best practices, cabling methodology, and managing vendors
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including how to switch and rout protocols and troubleshoot Layer 2 and 3 connectivity issues
• Proficiency in a Linux environment (Scripting skills in Bash or Python are a plus)
• Experience deploying a variety of server and network hardware (e.g., Dell, Cisco, Arista, Ciena, Corning products)
• Ability to design, deploy, test, and troubleshoot both copper and fibre cabling
