Linux Engineer

Jane Street offers an internship program to provide a real sense of what it's like to work full time. Interns collaborate on real-world projects with full-time employees, attend classes and sessions, and engage with the company's work. As a Linux Engineering intern, you'll work on maintaining and improving the critical infrastructure, debugging, developing tools, and resolving production issues. The program focuses on problem-solving, automation, and collaboration, with opportunities to interact with various teams and contribute to firm-wide solutions.

Requirements

• Knowledgeable of operating system fundamentals and computer architecture
• Able to understand network protocols at a basic level
• Someone who solves problems by writing code (in any language)
• Intellectually curious, collaborative, and eager to learn
• Humble and unafraid to ask questions and admit mistakes
• A strong communicator
• Are comfortable at the command-line of a *nix machine as you are in a GUI
• Experienced with systems programming concepts like C, sockets, virtual memory, and the process life cycle
• Experienced with a modern *nix system
• Fluent in English
