CFM is seeking a Field Safety Advisor to join our team in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of employees, contractors, and surrounding communities, and will play a key role in developing and implementing safety programs.
Requirements
- Maintain a strong and visible field presence, emphasizing proactive prevention and leading‐indicator activities.
- Partner with management and operations to reinforce safety expectations through consistent coaching and engagement.
- Provide expertise and guidance on safety standards, best practices, and risk‐mitigation strategies.
- Assist employees in identifying hazards and implementing effective controls to reduce risk.
- Maintain and support the execution of safety policies and procedures aligned with corporate and regulatory requirements.
- Deliver training, toolbox talks, and safety awareness sessions to strengthen knowledge and reinforce safe work behaviors.
- Lead thorough investigations of incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring accurate documentation, root‐cause analysis, and follow‐up on corrective actions
- Manage key health and safety programs, including audits, safety meetings, and Joint Health & Safety Committees (JHSCs).
- Monitor compliance with internal and external requirements and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Analyze safety KPIs and incident data to identify trends, emerging risks, and improvement opportunities.
