Senior Legal Counsel (Financial) Product & AI - (m/w/d)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team in Hamburg. The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial law, product law, and data protection, as well as experience in KI governance and KI-related legal risks.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, preferably in-house in a Tech/Software company or in a SaaS-focused law firm
• LL.M. with a focus on Finance Law, Business Law, IT Law (or equivalent qualification)
• Experience in product-oriented advice: you can formulate legal requirements so that product teams can implement them
• Secure understanding of the German and European regulatory environment, especially data protection, EU Digital, and KI laws
• Proven experience in KI governance, KI-related legal risks, and the implementation of legal guidelines for KI products, including the ability to operationalize regulatory requirements
• Practical experience in converting legal processes into templates and automation (e.g. legal skills in Claude, procurement workflow with n8n, Legal GPTs)
• A working style that fits a senior role: clear recommendations, prioritization, ownership, conflict resolution, and pragmatic solutions under time pressure
• The ability to independently manage a high workload and drive multiple topics forward for different teams
• The ability to recognize larger connections and implications beyond the specific question
• Clear, concise, and negotiable communication - in writing and orally, in English and German
• Sovereignty in collaboration with the Executive Management: you advise on equal footing, build relationships, and promote team-oriented collaboration
