Job Description
José Andrés Group (JAG) is seeking a Sous Chef to join their Back of House team in Nashville, TN. This hands-on role involves leading the kitchen line, coaching cooks, managing station prep and service, ensuring food safety, and supporting inventory. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Chef de Cuisine to deliver high-quality, fast, and efficient service to customers.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of professional kitchen experience
- 1–2+ years as a lead/strong line cook or Sous in upscale/casual-fine or fine dining
- Advanced station skills (grill, sauté, fry, garde manger)
- Strong expo experience
- Knowledge of HACCP/food safety
- Proven ability to coach teams and communicate clearly
- Familiarity with KDS/POS, inventory, and scheduling tools
- Schedule flexibility (nights, weekends, holidays)
- Working conditions requiring standing, lifting, and exposure to heat/chemicals
