Job Description
Our client is a leading commercial GC in California and Washington seeking a Commercial Construction Estimator for their San Diego, CA location. The Senior Construction Estimator will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase, responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with construction projects.
Requirements
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather information and develop accurate estimates.
- Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
- Conduct risk analysis and develop contingency plans for potential project challenges.
- Maintain and update cost databases and historical cost records.
- Provide input on value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets and schedules.
- Monitor project costs during construction to ensure adherence to budget.
- Stay current with industry trends, materials, and construction methods.
- Mentor and train junior estimators, providing guidance and support.
