Supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Builds members and the community’s understanding of the YMCA’s cause and impact. Provides direct supervision to a group of children and leadership/supervision to assistant staff in a seasonal day camp setting.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Must pass a background check and finger printing
- Experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: outdoor living/education, music (instrumental or songs, dramatic arts, aquatics, sports/PE/recreational games, creative arts, etc.)
- CPR/First Aid/AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training completed prior to camp start date
- Completed health form prior to start date
- 1-3 years' Experience leading an activity in one or more of the following areas: outdoor living/education, music (instrumental or songs), dramatic arts, aquatics, sports/PE/recreational games, creative arts, and others
- 1-3 years' experience working with children with cognitive and developmental disabilities is preferred
- Behavior management experience within a School, Childcare, Camp setting or parenthood is preferred
- 2-5 years Previous experience working with youth preferably in a day camp setting is preferred
- Working towards or having a Degree in Education, Recreation, Psychology, Social Work or other related fields is preferred
