The Prep Cook works as part of the culinary team to serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks for 350-1350 students and staff each day. Experience is preferred, but candidates with potential are willing to be trained. The position requires maintaining strict standards of physical and food safety, freshness, and sanitation.
Requirements
- Fundamental understanding of sanitation and cleanliness
- Knowledge of commercial kitchen and equipment
- Moderate physical effort, including standing, carrying, bending, stretching, stooping, pulling, pushing, lifting of weights up to 50 lbs
- Effective communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to problem solve effectively
- Food Handler's certification preferred
- Multi-faceted, multi-skilled, resourceful, and willing to do whatever it takes to serve high quality food to our school communities
- Model positive and healthy character traits and habits, such as being organized, consistent and understanding
