The Controls Engineer II is responsible for developing control system designs, deploying and commissioning PLC code, and creating graphical user interfaces for material handling systems. The role involves designing and deploying control systems, troubleshooting PLC code and electrical system functionality, collaborating with Electrical Engineering resources, and developing recommendations to improve productivity and reduce costs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field
- 5 years of work experience in the material handling or a related industry
- Experience with Rockwell Automation PLC programming (including GuardLogix) and Siemens TIA Portal programming (including Starter)
- Experience with Ethernet/IP network architecture
- Experience interpreting electrical schematics and a solid understanding of HMI programming
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with project management, engineering teams, installation crews, and external partners
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills with both internal teams and external stakeholders
- Ability to travel up to 40% annually
