CHEESE SHOP/CLERK

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service and establish a safe and clean environment. Assist department manager in achieving sales and profit goals. Work closely with the Deli/Baker Merchandising team and Deli/Bakery department to create an engaging environment for customers.

Requirements

• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items
• Inform customers of Cheese Shop specials
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion size
• Measure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipe
• Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients
• Check product quality to ensure freshness
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies
• Understand the store's layout and locate products when requested
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
• Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents
• Report all safety risks or issues and illegal activity
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced environment
• Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable manner
• Ability to act with honesty and integrity
• Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
