Job Description
Reporting to the Delinquency Manager, this role preserves the Credit Union’s assets by controlling delinquent loan accounts, collecting delinquent loan payments and/or recovering collateral.
Requirements
- Contact delinquent accounts by phone and mail; takes appropriate action to bring current.
- Analyze financial situation of delinquent borrowers; makes recommendations to repossess collateral when other arrangements to bring the loan current are unsuccessful.
- Collect on all delinquent loans including, but not limited to, mortgages, VISAs, car loans and any outstanding loans with the Credit Union.
- Handle the process of returned checks.
- Work and oversee Loss Prevention for the department.
- Assist the other Collectors; work together with department to meet goals and standards.
- Inform management of trends in loan underwriting contributing to delinquent/charged-off loans.
- Practice confidentiality where indicated in employee matters and Credit Union operations.
