Lab Assistant

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join their team in Birmingham, AL. The job involves receiving and sorting clinical lab specimens, preparing specimens for testing, and troubleshooting specimen-related issues. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent and 3 months or more of specimen processing experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3 months or more of specimen processing experience
• Comfortability with handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
