The CNC Set-Up Machinist is responsible for programming, setting up, and machining complete parts from detailed technical drawings using the most efficient processes and equipment available.
Requirements
- Program and edit CNC lathe programs as needed
- Perform full machine setups including tooling selection and workholding
- Load parts, operate controls, and verify first-piece quality
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints and customer specifications
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments
- Optimize machining processes for efficiency and quality
- Support engineers and customers during design and production stages
- Coach and assist operators when needed
- Maintain strict adherence to quality and safety standards
- Work independently with minimal supervision
