The Detention Deputy is responsible for the care, transport and security of all inmates lawfully in the custody of the Sheriff. Performs duties related to the daily operation of the jail.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must successfully complete a written examination, oral board interview, and psychological evaluation.
- Vision must be adequate to perform duties, with or without corrective lenses.
- Hearing must be sufficient, with or without hearing aids, to communicate effectively by phone and radio.
- Must be physically capable of climbing, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, twisting, and reaching as needed.
- Must be able to perform basic administrative tasks, including writing, typing, and completing office-related duties.
- Must maintain an appropriate level of physical fitness to meet the physical demands and essential functions of the position.
