Join Lam as an Electrical or Mechanical Hardware Designer and create innovative designs that improve costs, reliability, and advancements in next-generation products. You'll apply digital design, CAD software, and interpret engineering drawings to implement designs that solve material and manufacturing process challenges.
Requirements
- Design and develop mechanical components, engineering drawings, and BOMs using Engineering Change Management.
- Create 3D electrical and pneumatic harness routing using CAD tools.
- Build multi-CAD layouts for Lam products and manage large 3D assemblies.
- Proficient in Siemens NX, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other 3D CAD modeling tools.
- Develop concepts and designs for mechanical components and subsystems.
- Create drawings for sheet metal and machined parts with knowledge of fabrication, machining, and casting processes.
- Apply core mechanical engineering principles, design methods, and engineering drawing standards.
- Strong understanding of welding symbols, GD&T, surface finish, and ASME drafting standards.
- Originate and design mechanical parts/subassemblies and create layouts supporting product design and technology development.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on performance, cost reduction, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with product engineering, program management, manufacturing, field service, and supply chain to define specifications and complete design cycles.
- Produce production drawings, develop CAD assemblies, and participate in design reviews.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks, implement corrective actions, and ensure proper release and handoff to Technical Services and Field organizations.
- Contribute to project activities that accelerate design-to-release timelines and incorporate field data into mechanical design decisions.
- Assist senior engineers with analysis of research data, product specifications, and design challenges.
- Apply basic engineering theories, methods, and research techniques to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems.
- Conduct or support experiments and tests related to new methods, processes, hardware, material changes, or complex problem resolution.
- Collect data, analyze results, generate reports, and provide recommendations.
- Support design, analysis, prototype builds, process development, and documentation for pre-production release.
- Provide project support with appropriate supervision.
