Job Description
This Family Services Specialist II position supports the well-being of older adults, incapacitated individuals, and children in various welfare programs. The role involves individualized service plan development, assessment, referral, and providing emergency shelter. Specialists may specialize in one or more areas and rotate between programs including Employment Services, Child Care, Adult Protective Services, Foster Care, and Adoptions. Accurate documentation and compliance are key.
Requirements
- Valid Virginia driver’s license
- Knowledge of social work principles and practices
- Understanding of human behavior and motivational theory
- Knowledge of relevant Virginia laws, policies, and regulations
- BSW or MSW degree or equivalent experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field
