Sterling Steel Company is seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide technical support to employees and managers. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of related experience and a strong knowledge of Microsoft products, networking, and PC hardware. The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service.
Requirements
- Provide IT support to all network users
- Attend to issues in person for end users in office and mills
- Respond timely to questions sent via email or phone
- Install and maintain programs and updates
- Troubleshoot Windows, network, hardware and any other IT-related issues
- Setup, configure and maintain computers, laptops, printers and other IT equipment
- Manage user accounts, access and permissions
- Maintain IT inventory
- Conduct basic IT training for end users
- Create and delete user accounts according to policies
- Communicate professionally with employees, Corporate IT, Contractors and Vendors
- Participate in quarterly inventory
- Assist contractors with use of company networks, software and hardware
- Contact service vendors to schedule required service
- Assist IT Manager with projects/initiatives as needed
- Respond to internal and external audit request
- Continually expand knowledge of SSC, its departments and the steel business
- Provide off-hours technical support as needed
- Cover some IT Manager job duties during planned and unplanned absences
- Report to work as scheduled
- Follow all related SJPs
