The YMCA Kanawana Camp is Quebec's oldest summer camp, offering traditional and avant-garde camp programs based on YMCA values. Staff members can live on site throughout the summer, from June to August. The kitchen assistant will be part of a team responsible for preparing meals for approximately 350 people, three times a day.
Requirements
- Wash dishes, sweep, mop floors, and any other tasks related to the cleanliness of the premises.
- Assist with meal preparation under the supervision of the head chef or sous chef.
- Apply hygiene procedures.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area.
- Ensure the safety and protection of the physical and psychological health of all campers who are entrusted to you for assistance in the kitchen.
- Participate in mandatory pre-camp staff training.
- Attend staff meetings as required.
- Report any safety hazards or maintenance deficiencies to your supervisor or manager.
- Respect curfews and policies governing staff conduct.
- Adhere to YMCA policies and procedures regarding the protection of children and vulnerable individuals.
- Understand and integrate the value of philanthropy in your role and within the association, and participate in fundraising activities or events.
