Tool and Die Maker 3

Tool and Die Maker 3 role at Leupold & Stevens, responsible for designing and developing tools to support product manufacturing, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and improving manufacturing processes.

Requirements

• Participates in the design and development of tools
• Applies specialized skill sets to analyze specifications and operate machine tools
• Troubleshoots problems and identifies solutions
• Manages projects and ensures schedules are maintained
• Determines machining requirements and processes
• Reviews and verifies prints and drawings
• Computes dimensions and plan layout and assembly operation
• Measures, marks and scribes metal stock for machining
• Fabricates, maintains, modifies and repairs metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures and gages
• Builds, tests, calibrates, adjusts and maintains production gauging
• Participates in the development of performance specifications for tools and fixtures
• Works with tool engineers to identify and implement design improvements
• Effectively troubleshoots tool and die problems
• Identifies and initiates preventative and routine maintenance on tools and equipment
• Stays informed on state-of-the-art technologies and participates in research and development of solutions
• Trains and mentors new employees or apprentices
• Performs back up lead duties as assigned
