Job Description
The Paralegal provides professional legal support service as directed by the SVP General Counsel and/or his/her designee, performing a variety of legal-related and administrative support tasks, including conducting legal research, drafting legal and business communications, and preparing draft agreements and legal documents.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with some post-high school education, such as courses in business practices and typing
- 5 years of experience in a law firm, in-house legal department, or other office environment where the majority of the work was legal in focus
- Skills in computer applications and ability to operate legal data base management programs
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Thorough knowledge of English grammar and spelling
- Knowledge of standard office practices and equipment
- Ability to type 70 words per minute
- Familiarity with civil rules of procedure and court scheduling practices
