Hospice Volunteer Heart of Hospice

The Hospice Volunteer provides patient/family care activities or administrative support within a hospice program. This volunteer position is volunteer-based, with no pay. Responsibilities include documenting patient/family encounters, maintaining confidentiality, attending in-services, and participating in community outreach. This role supports the overall goal of quality patient/family care.

Requirements

• Provides assistance to the hospice program and/or patient/family.
• Accurately documents services provided.
• Attends in-services per year.
• Participates in community outreach projects.
• Knowledge of the death and dying process for bereavement volunteers.
