Lhoist North America is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance on all plant equipment, repair equipment, and maintain safe and efficient work conditions. The ideal candidate will have welding experience, industrial background, and good troubleshooting skills.

- Must be able perform basic mathematical computations
- Ability to detect potential problems through observation in the field
- Must be able to work shift work, seven days a week including holidays and be flexible to schedule changes
- Must have a telephone and be open to call-outs

- Must be able to work 12 hour shifts for an extended day period during plant outages
- Proven self-direction and leadership abilities
- Good analytical and problem solving skills

- Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with supervisors and peers
- Must have a telephone available and be receptive to callouts
- Good decision making skills regarding safety
- Knowledge of basic computer skills
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment is desired
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as work orders, blue prints, mechanical drawings, safety rules, standard operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
- Knowledgeable of current environmental regulations and practices as they relate to the lime industry
- Physical Demands include, but are not limited to:
- Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels
- Must be capable of performing the essential job duties required in this position
- Will be working at times in office environment but mainly in a mining environment
- The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Mineral Particles
- The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting
- Ability to consistently lift over 50 pounds as needed
